Day
1: Depart from UK
Depart from your preferred airport for your flight to Tokyo. Meals
on board.
Day
2:
Arrive Tokyo
Arrive
at Narita International Airport where you will be met upon arrival
and transferred to your hotel in Tokyo. The rest of the day is free
at leisure. Accommodation at Jal City Hotel Haneda or similar.
Day
3: TOKYO -(HOKKAIDO) -CHITOSE- OTARU - SAPPORO (B)(D)
After
Breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Haneda Domestic Airport by
shuttle bus to Haneda airport for your flight to Hokkaido, arriving
at Chitose Airport. Upon arrival, walk to your hotel which is located
in the airport. After checking in at the hotel we proceed to Otaru
with our Hokkaido based, English speaking driver guide, who
will travel with us whilst we are in Hokkaido. Otaru is a beautiful
port city known for its historic Otaru Canal and the many
glass & music box shops. After seeing the canal we visit a
glass shop, which produces ornate glassware and also a traditional
music box shop. Our tour continues to Sapporo. Upon arrival
at Sapporo, visiting Okurayama Ski Jump and Odori Boulevard Park.
Enjoy a delicious dinner at the Sapporo Beer Garden. Accommodation
at Sapporo Excel Hotel or similar.
Day
4: SAPPORO - FURANO - BIEI - SOUNKYO GORGE (B)(D)
This
morning we transfer to Furano, where upon arrival, we visit
Tomita Farm in the pictureque Daisetsu-zan National Park.
Originally a simple lavender farm, today Tomita farm has expanded
to include a number of large fields of various flower types, including
Poppies, French Marigolds, and many more. The most famous image
of the farm is that of the ‘rainbow field’ created by planting rows
of different flowers along the gentle rolling hills.
Enjoy
walking through the spectacular multi coloured fields where
you have ample opportunity to relax surrounded by a seemingly endless
patchwork of colour, so beautifully arranged and expertly manicured
that the hills seem almost artificial. First we visit the flower
gardens of Farm Tomita and then enjoy tasting the lavender flavored
ice cream, where the refreshing taste of lavender will tantalize
your senses. A Farm Tomita's favorite!
Our
tour continues to Sounkyo Gorge, where we drop in at Biei
which is famous for its spectacular scenery. Biei is used as a backdrop
for many Japanese commercials and TV programs due to its beauty.
Enjoy walking around panoramic flower gardens overlooking
Mt. Tokachi and the mysterious lake "Aoi-ike. Afterwards
proceed to Sounkyo Gorge. Dinner and accommodation at Sounkyo
Kanyo Kanko Hotel or similar.
Day
5: SOUNKYO GORGE - ABASHIRI (B)(D)
After breakfast we transfer to Abashiri via Kitami. Visit the Okhotsuk
Ryuhyokan where drift ice is preserved for display, even
in the summer. Rest of time is free for your own activity. Dinner
and accommodation at Hokuten No Oka Lake Abashiri Tsuruga Resort
hotel or similar.
Day
6: ABASHIRI - LAKE MASHU - LAKE AKAN - OBIHIRO (B)
Today we drive to Obihiro via Bihoro and Lake Mashu,
one of the world's clearest, most transparent lakes. The lake was
catapulted to fame in the 1960s with the hit song, "The Mists of
Lake Mashu," and in 2001, was designated as a 'Hokkaido Heritage
sight'. Afterwards we proceed to Mt. Io, (known as sulphur
mountain) an active volcano, emitting clouds of sulphur fumes.
Our tour continues on to Lake Akan on which we enjoy a cruise
and then see "Marimo"(a green spherical water plant) at the Marimo
Museum. After visiting Marimo Museum, we proceed to Obihiro.
Dinner is on your own. Accommodation at Obihiro Tokyu Inn
or similar.
Day 7: OBIHIRO - SHIRAOI AINU VILLAGE -NOBORIBETSU (B)(D)
After
breakfast we drive through the Hidaka Mountains noted for
the birthplace of thoroughbred race horses. We then proceed to Shiraoi
to visit a traditional Ainu Village. The Ainu where the original
people who lived on Hokkaido Island before the Japanese colonisation.
Our tour continues to Noboribetsu where you will visit "Jigoku"
hotspring area, known as 'hell Valley' due to the yellow/grey plumes
of volcanic gases seeping from the hillsides. Dinner and accommodation
at Noboribetsu Manseikaku or similar.
Day
8: NOBORIBETSU - LAKE TOYA - HAKODATE - MT HAKODATE (B)
This
morning we transfer to the Nakayama Pass and Lake Toya.
En route, we visit Mt. Showa, an active volcanic mountain
and also Onuma Park. Afterwards we proceed to Hakodate,
the second largest city in Hokkaido. Dinner is on your own. In the
evening, drive up Mt. Hakodate (Hakodateyama), a 334 meters
high, wooded mountain at the southern end of the peninsula on which
much of central Hakodate is located. On clear days and nights, the
view of Hakodate from the mountain is spectacular. After the night
tour, we transfer to JR Hakodate Station where we say goodbye to
your Hokkaido tour buddy & Driver and board the Limited Express
Night Train "Hokutosei" to Ueno, Tokyo. Meet your Tokyo based
profession English speaking guide upon arrival at Ueno station the
next morning. Overnight accommodation on the Limited Express Night
Train "Hokutosei"
Day
9: TOKYO (B)(L)(D)
Today
we enjoy a Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour of Tokyo with
our professional tour guide. Our tour includes visiting Asakusa
Kannon Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade. We then have
lunch at a local restaurant in Asakusa. In the afternoon, we see
historic and modern Tokyo where we visit the Imperial Palace
and Harajuku street, where young people dressed up in different
styles of 'Manga' costumes and gather around to socialise &
chat. Our tour continues to Meji-Jingu Shrine, one of the
most popular Shinto shrines in Tokyo and a must see for anyone visiting
Tokyo. For dinner we have a great experience in a traditional Japanese
style beer hall restaurant near Ginza. Accommodation at
Narita Excel Hotel Tokyu or similar.
Day
10:
Tokyo - Departure (B)
Today we say Sa-yo-na-ra. Take the pre-arranged transfer
by Airport Shuttle service to Narita Airport for your departure
flight homewards.

Transport
will be by plane, train and minibus or chartered taxi. The tour
involves some walking and therefore reasonable level of fitness
is required, however it is suitable for all ages.
Our
tour is arranged on a small group basis, average 6-8 people per
group, as we feel this gives our travellers more flexibility
and enjoyment. By reducing the group size our experienced guide
can show you the true beauty of Japan.
Our
itineraries are designed at a sensible pace with a combination of
escorted sightseeing and some free time. The tour price is calculated
based upon a minimum of 6 travellers in 1 group. In the unlikely
situation where the number is less than 6, we will either offer
an alternative date which is as close to the original departure
date as possible, or travellers can pay for a private tour.

reputable airlines. For the cheapest deal we recommend you book
your international flights at time of booking, as this can save
