Optional Tour Excursions

Tour includes visiting the beautiful Hama-Rikyu garden, enjoying our Sumida River Cruise and visiting the Asakusa Kannon Temple & Nakamise shopping street. We then drive through Kappabashi, Ueno and Akihabara districts of Tokyo before finishing the tour.

Afternoon guided walking tour to visit some of the best Cherrry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo. Visit Rikug-en garden, Ueno Park. Then travel to Asakusa to see Senso-ji Temple. Finally we take a Sumida River night cruise to see the Cherry blossom trees lit up alongside the river banks. 1:30pm-7:00pm

Full Day guided coach tour to Nikko National park, a designated World Cultural Heritage site. Nikko is a gem of natural beauty and home to some of the most spectacular examples of ancient architecture in Japan. The tour includes a visit to the magnificent Toshogu Shrine, which houses the Mausoleum of the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate. After lunch, we vist Lake Chuzenji (particularly beautiful in Autumn). Afterwards we visit the spectacular Kegon waterfalls. Japanese style Lunch included.

With our professional tour guide we take a coach to Kamakura, the small and fascinating former capital city. We will visit Jomyo-ji Temple and experience an acclaimed 400 year old Japanese tea house for a Green tea ceremony experience. We then go to Hokoku-Ji Temple and later enjoy Zen Buddhist Vegetarian Cuisine. Afterwards we travel to Kotoku-in Temple to see the famous Giant Buddha statue.

Finally we travel to the beautiful seacapes of Enoshima bay, before returning to Tokyo. Includes lunch.

Afternoon departure to experience Tokyo's newest landmark, the impressive Tokyo Skytree for the ultimate views across Tokyo. Visit the 350m Tembo deck. The tour also includes a visit to the famous Sensoji Temple in Asakusa and Nakamise shopping street. (450m Tembo gallery is not included, but can be purchased at the Skytree) if required.

Full Day guided tour to Nikko National park, a designated World Cultural Heritage site. The guided tour includes a visit to the magnificent Toshogu Shrine. Afterwards enjoy free time at Edo wonderland historical theme park, where you can step back in time and enjoy a spectacular Ninja show and an Edo-era period townscape & performances. (no guide service at Edo wonderland).

Experience the traditional Japan's sport of Sumo. Visit Tokyo's Sumo Museum & Ryogoku Kokugikan and view historic sumo-related objects from the Edo period to present day.

Afterwards watch exciting Sumo Tournament matches from your reserved class B seats. English commentary is available on radios which will be provided by our guide.

Option A - Sumo Experience - Enjoy Sumo demonstrations by retired Sumo wrestlers with their interpretation of history, practise and customs etc. Some volunteers can try Sumo costumes and challenge Sumo wrestlers to a friendly match. Photo opportunities available. Later enjoy Chanko-nabe tradition Sumo meal and receive a small souvenir. Every Monday.

Option B - Sumo Stable tour - Visit an authentic Sumo Stable and see active wrestlers train. Take photos and communicate with the young wrestlers for an ultimate insight into Sumo life. Tour Available subject to Sumo tournament calendar.

Tsukiji Outer Fish market & Sushi workshop (Departure Mon, Tues, Thurs & Frid*)

Visit the outer Tsukiji fish market to see the excitement of one of the world greatest fish markets. Later a professional Chef will demonstrate how to make Sushi, which you can prepare yourself and enjoy for lunch.

Lake Kawaguchi, is one of the Mt Fuji lakes nestled near the base of the famous mountain. Your stay will be in a Ryokan (tradition Japanese style Inn) in a Japanese style room. Relax in indoor and outdoor 'Onsen' baths and hot spring spa's with spectacular views of Mt Fuji. Later enjoy a traditional Japanese meal served with fresh local seasonal ingredients. Fishing and hiking is also possible along the lakeside. This a completely unforgettable experience, and can be incorporated into all our Japan holiday Packages and tailor-made itineraries.

Include breakfast and dinner at your Ryokan. Round trip from Tokyo by Highway bus (approx travel time 1.45 hour)

We can also arrange a hotel upgrade or Ryokan accommodation in Hakone, staying in either a western style or traditional Japanese style room. Both opens available with outdoor 'Onsen' spa facilities. Ask for details.

Nara is the ancient capital city of Japan and is known as the cradle of Japan's arts & crafts. This restful and rural city was were Buddhism first flourished in Japan and is therefore home to many ancient temples and historic relics.

Our tour departs from Kyoto and includes Japanese style lunch: Itinerary includes visiting Todaiji Temple, Nara Deer Park, Kasuga Taisha Shrine & Nara Nagomikan.

Our guided coach tour includes visiting Heian Shrine, Sanjusangendo Hall & the magnificent Kiyomizu Temple. Kiyomizu temple is simply unmissable and is a must visit location, made even more famous by the film 'Memory of Geisha'.

Morning guided tour by bicycle of the enchanting winding back streets of Kyoto, to truly experience the real Kyoto lifestyle.. We cycle through the Miyagawacho Geisha quarters, Ishibei Koji Alley and Gion. We then stop at the Yasaka Jinja shrine for sight seeing. Later we continue along Shirakawa River Willow tree path, before stopping at the impressive Heian Jingu shrine.

Tour operates Mon, Wed, Frid, Sunday.

Visit Fushima Inari Shrine, which is one of the oldest shrines in Kyoto, famous for its 1000 red Torii gates. Then take the train with our professional tour guide to Uji and visit Byodo-in Temple, recognised by UNESCO World heritage and build in the 11th century. Later we enjoy a Japanese Tea Ceremony.

Optional Japanese set lunch can also be provided at a local restaurant near Uji River.

Visit Tenryuji Temple, which is one of Kyoto's best Zen Temple and enjoy beautiful gardens. We then go to walk along Sagano Bamboo groves. Afterwards we travel to Jojakkoji Temple and finally visit the scenic Togetsu Bridge, which spans Katsura River and is known as moon crossing.

Optional Japanese set lunch can also be provided at a local restaurant near Uji River.

Enjoy watching a delightful pageant of Japanese traditional arts, performances and Maiko dancing etc at Gion Corner. The tour includes walking through the traditional Gion district to feel the unique evening atmosphere.

Experience a Japanese Tea Ceremony at a traditional Ryokan and enjoy Zen (vegetarian) dining.

This option is available for most tours visiting Kyoto. However the tour operates on certain days per week only, therefore please enquire when booking.

Tour extension includes train transfer from Kyoto or Osaka to Hiroshima. Free time in Hiroshima to explore the city & neighbouring Miyajima, or take the above optional guided tour. The next day transfer to Osaka to have free time to explore Osaka and see the Osaka Castle etc.

Includes train transfers, 1 night in Hiroshima and 1 night in Osaka. Airport transfer to Kansai airport is provided on your departure.

A full day tour with English speaking guide includes visiting Miyajima (Sacred Island) and the famous floating red Torii gates and also Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park & museums.
